Join us for a historic and joy-filled afternoon as we celebrate 80 years of Black cultural excellence, sisterhood, and community impact.
Founded in 1945 by civic visionaries Fannie and Della Williams and officially incorporated in 1947, the Wilfandel Club has served as a pillar of leadership, culture, and pride in Los Angeles. In 1948, the Club acquired a stately Renaissance Revival mansion in the heart of West Adams and in partnership with legendary architect Paul R. Williams, transformed it into the Wilfandel Clubhouse.
Adorned with lush landscaping and rich in historical importance, the Wilfandel Clubhouse became more than just a building it turned into a safe and beautiful gathering spot, a community anchor, and the go-to place to be and be seen in Black Los Angeles.

🖤 A Legacy Like No Other:
The Wilfandel Club is the only Black women’s organization in Los Angeles that owns its land and property outright — and has served as an exceptional steward of this home and its legacy for nearly 80 years.
Its members have long pledged to work for the betterment of society, particularly in the areas of education, cultural growth, and general wellbeing. Today, that commitment remains strong. The clubhouse continues to be a prime location for cultural, educational, and social activities that enrich the West Adams community and beyond.
This celebration isn’t just an anniversary, it’s a moment to honor the women who made it possible, support the work still being done, and invest in what’s next.
